TINY FLASH FICTION: Finalists and Semifinalists!

Thank you to everyone who submitted micro flash fiction for our Tenth Anniversary Issue! We received over 550 fiction submissions and read every one with great interest, delight, and joy. We could not get over the variety of premises, voices, and vibes. It was so difficult to choose from these tiny jewels, but we are excited to announce our finalists and semifinalists, among them a Lambda Literary Fellow, a mathematician college student, a musician, a podcast-maker, a first-year high school student, a 94-year-old who semi-recently completed a BA in journalism, and several former SLM contributors.

Special thanks to SLM fiction and flash teams who worked overtime to read the submissions as they came in and to meet over Zoom to discuss the many, many outstanding stories. A highlight of our year was reading the finalists aloud at this meeting. Wow, do they sing!

We will announce the tiny memoir and tiny poem finalists later this summer! Stay tuned! And now, drumroll please…
