  • FLASH FICTION of 275 words or less

  • FLASH CNF/MEMOIR of 275 words or less

THEME: Write about ANYTHING! Whatever interests YOU! Really! There is no required theme, but we will probably get super excited about work that touches on the passing of time, nostalgia, memory/memories, decades, the past, or the number ten in some way, even if very tangentially. After all, we are turning ten! (Did we say that already?) But we are mostly looking for your favorite, best tiny work, so send us that!

WHEN: Submissions will be open from May 1 to May 31, 2022, on Submittable. Please don’t submit before May 1. We will have special submission categories set up then.

COST: Submissions are FREE!!!

PAYMENT: $75 per piece!!!

HOW WILL THEY BE PUBLISHED? Two ways! Two times the fun! Accepted work will be featured (1) online in November in our anniversary issue AND (2) in a bundle of TEN GORGEOUS SUBLIME SPECTACULAR postcards featuring the micros, as well as Split Lip art from over the years.

CAN YOUR WORK EXCEED THE WORD/LINE LIMITS? No, silly! Because then they won’t fit on our pretty postcards!

MAY PREVIOUS CONTRIBUTORS SUBMIT? YES please! You don’t even have to wait a year from your first publication date to submit.

MAY I SUBMIT MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS: You may only submit ONE time to ONE genre, but that submission may contain TWO micros or TWO tiny poems.

WILL THERE BE A READING? YES! We will host a reading on November 15 to launch the issue and celebrate. It will be on ZOOM to make it accessible to everyone. We will have ASL interpreters. There will be snacks! (OK, that last one might be a little hard, but we will have snack suggestions!)
