Just One Thing with Lindsey DeLoach Jones
Lindsey DeLoach Jones’s May issue memoir “Accidents” is about the unexpected ways in which grief can be destructive. Here she shares just one thing about the piece:
"I used to check my mailbox at nighttime to avoid my neighbors. We live in a neighborhood where the people always seem to be immaculately dressed and doing Important Things, whereas I work from home and sometimes jump braless on the trampoline with my kids. Recently I found some really great neighbors, who understand that I will almost always be wearing a t-shirt, topknot, and my decade-old L.L.Bean sherpa-lined slippers. One of them brought me the duct tape the day I wrecked my car, which was nice because once someone has seen you at your worst, you don't have to hide anymore.”
