Just One Thing with Lem Dubon

Lem Dubon’s artwork “Limbo” provides a haunting poignance through intricate flowing lines. Here they share just one thing about the piece:

“When I started working on ‘In Limbo’ I had gotten into the habit of looking at photographs of dancers as inspiration. I thought their movements frozen in place by pictures had an otherworldly look to them. The ability to translate a feeling through bodies has always been an art in itself and I think that beauty has a transcendence that makes people look. The final product ended up looking like someone falling. A suspension that feels to me ambiguous. A reminiscence of slipping in your sleep. At any minute your body jumps back up, now fully waking up.”
