Just One Thing with Ina Cariño

Ina Cariño’s poem “Keep Sweet” shines and slices with the beautiful sharp edges of gems and of being alive. Here they share just one thing about the piece:

“‘Keep Sweet’ has elements of several things that are real. The gemstone man is real; the metaphysical store is real, as is the hunt for gemstones; and the title comes from a potential band name I had come up with but that ended up being the title of a song I composed for my solo electronic project, Blue Haiku.”

A brown femme with black and blond-streaked shoulder-length hair looks at the camera. They are wearing a white sleeveless dress, and their body and the background is cast with various differently colored lights, including blue, green, and red.
