Priyanka Champaneri’s story “Good Neighbor” highlights the unique bond built between two neighbors. Here she shares just one thing about the piece: 

“To be an unattached member of the Brown community is to be the frequent and easy target of aunties and uncles with only one discussion topic at their disposal: when, when, when, are you getting married? 

Sometimes, they really do just want to know when you're getting married. But other times, there are layers lurking beyond the initial bald presumption. There's a sense that what they're really saying isn't so much "What's wrong with you?" as "The world I know is a frightening and incomprehensible place. How can you possibly navigate it?"

That's the question I am interested in, and "Good Neighbor" is my attempt at an answer.”
