Just One Thing with Marcela Sulak

We’re thrilled that Marcela Sulak’s “The Cost of Art” is our first flash of 2021! Here she shares just one thing about the piece:

“I am absolutely terrible with money. I have supported myself since age 17, but I never learned to invest or do ‘adult’ things like buy a house. Once I wanted something very much, and, as I usually do, I began to relate the cost of that unnecessary, desired, thing to the cost of necessary things to decide what it was worth. In writing this piece, I realized that rationality is the enemy of generosity.”
