Just One Thing with Eddie Krzeminski

Musician, teacher, poet—Eddie Krzeminski does it all. Chen Chen selected his poem “I Have Something to Say” to be second runner-up in our recent contest, and you can read it now in our March issue. Here’s just one thing from Eddie about his piece:

“While researching this poem I came across some ancient techniques for treating stuttering. The Greek orator Demosthenes was said to fill his mouth with pebbles and shout over the sound of ocean waves. This was the inspiration for the line about river stones. I suspect much of that legend isn’t true, like a lot of those old Greek myths, but dammit if it isn’t beautiful.”
