Just One Thing with Daisuke Takakura

“‘This piece was originally created at the request of a stylist, and the woman in the photograph was also her acquaintance. Unlike many other works in my monodramatic series, which are typically inspired by in-depth conversations with the subject, this piece was born from a more visceral experience. The stylist had chosen a beautiful cerulean blue dress, and the subject, a contemporary dancer based in Europe, provided the physical elements that sparked my imagination. As she moved gracefully within the camera frame, adorned in the sky-blue dress, she resembled a playful whirlwind, and I realized that this was a unique form of communication for he

This is a 'Kachimamori', a traditional Japanese charm made of cloth. It's a small, circular, yellow amulet adorned with intricate gold embroidery depicting flowers and light, and the character '勝', symbolizing overcoming challenges.
