Just One Thing with Aimée Keeble

Aimée Keeble’s flash “Rabbit Heart” allows us to take our heart out of our chest, hold it in our hands, fill in the date we’d like our new robotic organ to give out. Here she shares just one thing about the piece:

“I really wanted to examine what it would look like if anxiety could exist outside of the body. It can feel so present and a part of oneself, sort of the way an upset organ makes itself known when it's in distress- a ruptured spleen, a heart under attack. I wanted to imagine what that feeling would look like if it were given physical form, and how we would respond to it. Would we want to destroy it? Or would we care for it, have sympathy for it?”
