Just One Thing with Adrienne Novy

The author’s gremlin son, Laurie

Just the title of Adrienne Novy’s January issue poem “Portrait of Timothée Chalamet’s Silver Suit as Andrea Zambelli’s L’Honnesta Keter on Display at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 551” is good enough for us to publish—but the poem itself is even more amazing. Here she shares just one thing about the piece:

“Though this was cut out of the final edits, I would not have been able to write this poem without having written it after the series of poems entitled Pilgrim Bell in the book Pilgrim Bell by Kaveh Akbar, as well as the work of Noel Quiñones. I really loved the shortly-executed lines that Kaveh Akbar had in his poems that I wanted to try it in my own writing.”
