Just One Thing with Abbie Kiefer

Abbie Kiefer’s December issue poem “On Antiques Roadshow, a Quilt Might $600 at Auction” tucks us into the past. Here she shares just one thing about the piece:

“I wrote this poem because I'm fascinated by the things we inherit, material and otherwise. And because it's so easy to sentimentalize the past and I wanted to think about that for a bit. But also because I just really love Antiques Roadshow and watching three episodes in a row feels almost virtuous when done in the name of research.”
