Vónbjørt Vang (@collagesbyvonbjort) is a writer and visual artist from Klaksvík. She is the author of three poetry collections and one book of craft essays. Vang’s most recent collection, Svørt orkidé (Black Orchid, 2023), centers around the theme of motherhood and parenting a troubled adolescent; the work integrates Vang’s own collages, which consist of cut-outs created from discarded library books. Svørt orkidé won M.A. Jacobsen’s Literature Award, the national literary prize of the Faroe Islands, in 2024. Vang currently serves as the City Librarian in Tórshavn.
