Ashley Carlson was born and raised throughout rural southern Idaho. Her work often depicts surreal imagery of the landscape she grew up in. Rural isolation is a recurring concept in her work, with individuals appearing in abandoned spaces. Rendered faceless, their identities remain anonymous, as do the actual people who reside in this rural place. Ashely received her BFA, with an emphasis in painting and drawing, from Boise State University in 2016. She currently lives and works in Boise, Idaho.
