Born in New York City in 1999, Camryn Casey (@camalcas) grew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As a New York-based artist, her work exploits the objecthood of food and portraiture to address the Western commodification of sexuality and race. Working with Josef Alber’s theory of color, her oil painting style is motivated by color interactions which playfully address the consumption of Black bodies, dead or alive.
